Description

Keep your spare shotgun shells right where you need them with the Monstrum Side Mounted Shell Holder with Picatinny Rail Mount. Built for use with Mossberg 500 and 590 Series shotguns, the shell holder accommodates up to six 12 gauge shotgun shells. The ambidextrous design allows for installation on either side of the stock for shooters of all orientations.

The two-piece design is built to be mounted together as a single unit. Shell holders or rail mounts will not install as stand-alone units using the included mounting hardware. The unit installs into the factory mounting holes of Mossberg 500 or 590 Series shotgun models with no additional gunsmithing required. Also compatible with Mossberg Shockwave, 535, 835, and 590a1 models. Please note that pre-1997 Mossberg shotguns were manufactured with a different mounting hole pattern and will require 6x48TPI screws (not included).

I like it. It is made of sturdy aluminum, and not plastic which will last a lifetime. I like how it doesn't need to be installed by the the trigger action pins on the side of the receiver which I have heard can lead to binding/slowing of the pump action bars. This Monstrum one installs on the factory drilled and tapped screw holes on the top of the receiver. Overtime, if the 12g shells become loose in the holder its an easy fix with some one-sided self adhesive felt tape or something similar on the inside if the holder rings. I think its currently the best option on the market for the price. I bought an inexpensive $27 Turkey(Turkish) made metal ghost ring sight(LPA style) to go on the picatinny rail from TRimports. I have this same setup on 2 of my Mossbergs.
